Statistics Canada data showing increase in crime rates
New data from Statistics Canada shows that over the last year Newfoundland and Labrador had the highest increase in crime rates against all over provinces and territories. The Official Opposition says they’re disappointed, but not surprised. NTV’s Marykate O’Neill reports.

Man charged with assault and break and enter in St. John’s early this morning
RNC responded to a report of an assault in St. John’s around 1:00 a.m. this morning. As a result of their investigation, a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, break and enter, mischief and threats. He was taken to the city lockup to await court.
