NordSpace rocket launch scrubbed again in St. Lawrence

Nordspace tried again yesterday, but was unsuccessful in its effort to launch a sub-orbital rocket from St. Lawrence. Further launches have been called off as Nordspace heads back to its test facility in Ontario to work on fixing a problem with the quality of the propellant used on the launch pad. Aquaculture industry hosts 30th annual conference in St. John’s

Near Miss on the Terra Nova FPSO

On Sept. 21, Suncor Energy Inc. reported an incident that occurred during equipment testing on the Terra Nova FPSO. While testing the mechanical overspeed on the emergency generator, the engine fan failed. This resulted in fan debris being projected into the room where the generator was located. NordSpace rocket launch attempt delayed by fire

The weather was perfect in St. Lawrence Tuesday morning for Canada’s first commercial rocket launch, but the first attempt was delayed by a boat in the exclusion zone, and the second was delayed by a fire on the launch pad. There were no injuries.
