Police charge 69-year-old woman following assault at Carbonear sporting event
A 69-year-old woman is facing criminal charges after an argument escalated into physical violence at a sporting event in Carbonear yesterday.
Just after 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, Harbour Grace RCMP received a report of an individual who was physically assaulted at the soccer field on High Road South in Carbonear.
The victim was in the parking lot near the field when he was confronted by a woman. The verbal altercation escalated, and the woman physically attacked the victim causing minor injuries.
A 69-year-old woman was arrested, and will appear in court on Nov. 5, to answer to a charge of assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
