A private ambulance operator who recently had his contract terminated is crying foul tonight.

The owner of Smith’s Ambulance says government failed to follow proper protocol. He says any concerns should have been presented to him formally. Instead, he claims he was blindsided and now he’s taking taking the province and the health authority to court.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Alliance has officially deregistered as a political party, Elections Newfoundland and Labrador announced Thursday. The move comes a month and a half after Graydon Pelley stepped down as leader.

Stephenville woman arrested Monday evening following stabbing

A woman was arrested in Stephenville Monday evening after a stabbing.

This viewer video shows the arrest. Police say 30-year-old Kayla Rose-Leader has been charged with aggravated assault, theft of a motor vehicle, break and enter, and failing to comply with a release order.

Police issue arrest warrant for Bell Island man

An arrest warrant has been issued for 35-year-old Francis Mercer of Bell Island who is currently wanted for 16 counts of failing to comply with a court release order.

Mercer, who is currently on conditions not to be on Bell Island and to have no contact with victims of previous assaults which are still before the court, has breached and continues to breach these conditions.  

He is described as 5-foot-11, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. A picture is attached.
