Lunch hour crash topples light pole and sends one to hospital
A single-vehicle crash just before noon has forced a closure of an exit ramp from Pitts Memorial Drive and sent one person to hospital.
Shortly before 12:00 p.m. emergency crews were called to the exit ramp leading to Richard Nolan Drive from the westbound lanes of Pitts Memorial Drive. The driver of a vehicle had lost control, leaving the roadway and striking a wooden light pole. The force of the impact toppled the pole and left the vehicle upside-down over a small embankment.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital, their injuries were not believed to be serious.
Police were forced to temporarily close the exit ramp.
