44-Year Old Arrested for Assaulting a Police Officer

Around 2:40am on March 9th, RNC officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the area of downtown St. John’s. As a result, a 44-year old man was arrested for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. He was taken to lockup and held for court.

Emergency Crews Respond to Overnight Fire on Mundy Pond Road

Around 2:40am on March 9th, emergency crews in St. John’s responded to a residential fire on Mundy Pond Road. Upon arrival, police found the home to be fully engulfed in flames, and residences nearby were evacuated as a precaution. There is no word yet on any potential injuries.
