Man taken into custody after incident in Grand Falls-Windsor

Police say a man has been taken into custody after an incident in Grand Falls-Windsor.

RCMP had asked the public to avoid the area of High Street and Church Road they were responding to an unfolding event. Residents in the area were asked to remain inside with their doors locked. 

But now police say residents can resume normal activities. They can expect to see an increased police presence in the area, but there is no risk to public safety.
