Police arrest fifth teenager in connection with Prince of Wales Collegiate attack

Police have made another arrest connected to an attack at a St. John’s high school on March 9.

A 17-year-old boy from St. John’s was arrested Tuesday after an assault on a 16-year-old boy at Prince of Wales Collegiate last month. The 17-year-old is charged with the following offences.

  • Attempted murder (party to the offence)
  • Assault with a weapon (party to the offence)
  • Aggravated assault
  • Failure to comply with a youth sentence order

Five teenagers have now been arrested. Charges were laid in March against three boys, ages 14, 15 and 16, and an 18-year-old man. The 17-year-old is being held in custody to appear in provincial court.

Fourth teenager arrested for attempted murder following attack outside St. John’s high school

The RNC have confirmed a fourth teenager has been arrested, following last weeks violent attack at Prince of Wales Collegiate.

Police have charged a 14-year-old boy with a number of charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a weapon and disguise with intent.

This brings the total number of teenagers charged in the violent incident so far to four. On Tuesday, a 16-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

He joins a 15-year-old boy charged last Friday, and 18-year-old Tyler Greening who was charged on Monday.

Third teenager arrested after attack outside St. John’s high school

A third teenager has been arrested in the wake of last week’s violent attack at Prince of Wales Collegiate in St. John’s.

The latest to be arrested is a 16-year-old boy. So far, two minors and one adult have been charged after the attack sent another 16-year-old boy to the Janeway Hospital for treatment.

15-year-old boy from St. John’s, arrested March 9.

–       Aggravated assault

–       Assault with a weapon

–       Disguise with intent

–       Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

–       Breach of court order

18-year-old Tyler Greening from Paradise, arrested March 12.

–       Accessory to an offence

–       Attempted murder (party to the offence)

–       Aggravated assault (party to the offence)

–       Assault with a weapon (party to the offence)

16-year-old boy from St. John’s, arrested March 13.

–       Attempted murder (party to the offence)

–       Aggravated assault (party to the offence)

–       Assault with a weapon (party to the offence)

The 16-year-old accused will appear in Provincial Court Tuesday.
