Heavy snow shuts down schools, busses and other operations for the day
Government offices, schools and businesses are closed today, as heavy snow hits much of the Island. In St. John’s, Metrobus has announced they will not be operating today because of current and forecast weather conditions. Man Arrested for Threatening Medical Staff
Tuesday, February 17th around noon, RNC responded to a medical facility in St. John’s where it was reported that a man had threatened staff and security guards. Police arrested the 30-year old man without further incident and later released him from custody with a future court date for uttering threats.

Suspected Impaired Driver Collides With Plow
At 1:15am on February 18th, RNC responded to a collision on Columbus Drive where a driver reportedly hit a city snow plow operator. Upon arrival, police suspected the driver to be impaired and a test resulted in a 7-day suspension. The 59-year old man also had his vehicle impounded.
