Patients at Dr. S. Beckley Health Centre in Grand Bank voicing frustration over how appointments are booked
Patients at the Dr. S. Beckley Health Centre in Grand Bank are voicing frustration over how appointments are booked.
Retired teacher Rosalind Boland says her 89-year-old father has struggled to get an appointment needed to renew his prescriptions. Boland says patients must call on the 15th of the month, but with only one person answering phones and registering patients. Callers often can’t get through before appointments are gone.
She says she recently arrived at the health centre before 7:30 a.m. and found a lineup of people waiting to book appointments. Boland says the system needs to be changed, especially for seniors who may not have someone to advocate for them. She stresses her concerns are not directed at staff or doctors, but at the system itself.
We will have more on this story tonight on the NTV Evening Newshour.
