RNC investigating armed robbery
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating an armed robbery in St. John’s.
On Tuesday, around 1:30 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at a business on Aberdeen Avenue. The suspect presented a weapon, demanded jewelry from an employee and fled the area before officers arrived. There were no injuries.
The RNC General Investigation Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect who is described as an approximately 60-year-old female, wearing glasses and a beige coat. It is believed the suspect fled the area in a dark blue Chevrolet Trax.
The investigative team is appealing for any information or video footage (CCTV, dash camera, cell phone) from the area of Aberdeen Avenue between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. today. Anyone with information is asked to call the RNC at 709-729-8000.
