Early-Morning Structure Fire Closes Section of Thorburn Road
Shortly after 2am on Tuesday, June 2nd, emergency crews responded to a structure fire on Thorburn Road in Portugal Cove-St. Phillip’s. Upon arrival, the home was already engulfed in flames, and crews spent hours on the scene battling the blaze. Around 5:30am, the road was officially closed east of Bennet’s Road and west of the Outer Ring Road while fire personnel continue to work. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
