The City of St. John’s is considering a text amendment to the Development Regulations, that would amend the Daycare Centre regulations to bring them more in line with the requirements and terminology used by the Province.

This would allow Family Child Care Services as a Permitted Use within various residential zones, and allow Daycare Centre as a Permitted Use in various commercial and institutional zones. The City is considering removing Daycare Centre from zones that do not have municipal water. This includes the Rural Residential Zone and the Rural Village Zone.

The public can provide feedback on the amendment. Comments on the amendment are being accepted until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 6.
