A two-vehicle collision in the west end of St. John’s over the lunch hour slowed traffic on a busy thoroughfare.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. emergency crews were called to Topsail Road in front of McDonald’s. A vehicle pulling out of the parking lot was struck by a passing car, causing moderate damage to both vehicles.

The drivers of both vehicles, who were the only occupants, were checked at the scene by paramedics, but were not immediately taken to hospital.

Traffic was slowed in the area until the scene could be cleared.
