Justice, News

A 20-year-old driver was arrested by Harbour Breton RCMP Thursday evening following a single-vehicle crash in Conne River.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Dec. 4, Harbour Breton RCMP responded to a report of a car off the road outside a residence in Conne River. The driver, a 20-year-old woman, was being assessed at the scene by emergency medical services personnel when police arrived, but was not injured in the crash.

The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested by Harbour Breton RCMP for impaired operation. A roadside breath test was administered, and the officers also observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

The woman’s drivers licence was suspended and her vehicle seized and impounded. She was released from custody and will appear in court at a future date to face a charge of impaired operation. Police also issued her a ticket under the Liquor Control Act.
