Memorial’s St. John’s, Marine Institute and Signal Hill campuses, including the Childcare Centre closed for the day (latest update)

Due to inclement weather, the St. John’s, Marine Institute and Signal Hill campuses, including the Childcare Centre, are closed for the remainder of the day for all faculty, staff and students. Evening classes and activities are also cancelled.

Students and instructors can access remote and online courses via Brightspace, and unless individual instructors advise their students otherwise, all asynchronously-delivered remote courses and online course activities and deliverables will continue as scheduled. For updated information regarding invigilated mid-term exams in online courses, please visit CITL’s webpage. For all other scheduled evaluations, please check with your course instructor.

Other closures and cancellations:

-City of St. John’s facilities will remain closed for the remainder of the day (February 15). This includes City Hall, recreation facilities and the residential drop off at Robin Hood Bay. The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility remains open. 

-ANC offices in St. John’s will remain operating remotely for the day (February 15, 2024) due to severe weather conditions in the region.

-Memorial University’s St. John’s, Marine Institute and Signal Hill campuses, including the Childcare Centre, are closed for the remainder of the day for all faculty, staff and students. Evening classes are also cancelled.

-The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay would like to inform the public that due to the annual Lake Melville Xtreme Mega Tournament happening this weekend at the Broomfield Arena, Public Skating and Hockey Skate will be cancelled. All ice times will resume normal schedule on Monday, February 19th, 2024. 

-The Town of Paradise advises that due to the weather conditions and forecast, all Town facilities, including the Town Hall and Paradise Double Ice Complex, are closed for the afternoon on Thursday, February 15. An update on recreation facilities will be provided by 4:30 p.m. Updates available at www.paradise.ca/closures
