Just after 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Spaniard’s Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on the main road in the community.

When firefighters arrived, flames were visible from the roof of the home.

Fire Chief Curt Roberts said firefighters had the fire knocked down by about 6:00 a.m.

The home was a total loss with significant smoke and fire damage.

There were no injuries as no one was home at the time.
