The driver of a sedan was taken to hospital Sunday afternoon with injuries not believed to be life-threatening following a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Emergency crews were called to the eastbound lanes of the highway, approximately two kilometres east of Butterpot Provincial Park, just before 3:00 p.m.. The driver of a car traveling east lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway. The car rolled over several times before coming to a rest on its wheels down an embankment roughly one hundred metres from the highway. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was able to remove themselves from the heavily-damaged car.

Reports from the scene indicate they were conscious, alert, and speaking with first responders as they were helped to a waiting ambulance. They were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

One lane of the highway was closed for just over an hour as emergency crews worked.
