Sharing Our Cultures will hold its 2nd annual Multimedia Exhibition by school youth from around the province on Motivating Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism on Friday and Saturday at The Rooms Museum in St. John’s.

The event kicks off Friday at 4:00 p.m. with an official opening ceremony. Joan Marie J. Aylward, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador will bring the opening remarks.

On Saturday, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the public is invited to join in facilitated Community Conversations about EDI-AR in education, healthcare, and social work. This is an informal time to engage the public in conversations about what EDI-AR looks like in their spaces (work, school, neighbourhood, community). The media are invited.

The project, Motivating Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Antiracism (M.E.D.I.A) through multimedia, is designed to encourage conversations about the value of EDI-AR in schools, workplaces, and communities in Newfoundland and Labrador. Grade 7-12 students from around the province reflected on their shared knowledge and lived experiences to create inspiring and poignant messages and images, including poems, videos, booklets, drawings, paintings, essays, and posters.
