Petten to speak at construction conference

Deputy Premier and Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Barry Petten will bring greetings at the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association’s Women in Construction forum today. Petten will also speak at the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association Rock Awards gala on Saturday, November 8.  Both events take place at the JAG Hotel in St. John’s.

RNC launching new unit in western Newfoundland

The RNC in Corner Brook will launch a dedicated traffic and accident investigation unit in Western Newfoundland. The launch will take place today at 11:00 a.m. The RNC holds jurisdiction in western Newfoundland in the Bay of Islands area, including Pasadena and Corner Brook.

RNC investigating armed robbery in Goulds

Just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, the RNC were called to a report of an armed robbery at the Esso gas station in the Goulds. A male suspect brandished a weapon while demanding money from the register. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The investigation is ongoing.

All fuel prices increase in overnight adjustment

The Public Utilities Board has shifted prices upward in the latest fuel pricing adjustment. Gasoline has gone up 2.8 cents per litre.
