UPDATE: The RCMP in Sheshatshiu is advising residents that they can return to normal activities. There is no risk to public safety. Police remain in the area as part of the investigation.

EARLIER: RCMP is looking for 36-year-old Matthew Andrew who was observed walking on Messek Street in Sheshatshiu carrying a firearm.

His intent and current location is unknown. Information received suggests that Matthew Andrew is possibly in possession of a BB gun. No threats or reports of its use have been received. 

Residents are asked to stay inside and to report information to police.
