Crews respond to residential fire in Victoria

Fire crews from Salmon Cove, Perrys Cove, and Victoria responded to a structure fire on Wednesday evening in Victoria. The fire was contained to the kitchen but the rest of the structure sustained smoke and water damage.  The family’s dog was rescued but succumbed to smoke inhalation. A cat was also rescued and is doing fine with the family.

RNC clock driver going 115 km/h in 50 km/h zone

On Wednesday evening the RNC stopped on a speeding vehicle on Topsail Road in Mount Pearl. The driver was clocked travelling 115 km/h through a 50 km/h zone.  The 22-year-old male operator was issued a ticket for excessive speeding, a seven day driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded.
