Man arrested after weapons offences in St. John’s

On Thursday afternoon, the RNC responded to a residence in the west end of St. John’s in relation to a weapons offence. A 40-year-old man was arrested and charged as a result. The accused faces weapons offences charges. The man was held in custody overnight and will appear in court this morning.

Teachers Ratify Tentative Agreement

The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers Association has ratified the collective agreement that was reached with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Newfoundland and Labrador School Boards Association. Man in custody after an incident in Norris Point

The RCMP has taken one person into custody after an incident in Norris Point. Overnight there was an increased police presence on Main Street in Norris Point as police responded to an unfolding event. Residents were asked to avoid the area and to stay inside their homes with the doors locked.
