St. John’s hires contractors for snow cleanup in Southlands, Kenmount Terrace and Airport Heights
As snow removal efforts continue the City of St. John’s has announced contracts for snow removal have been awarded for three major subdivisions.
-Southlands – $1.5 million
-Kenmount Terrace – $1.2 million
-Airport Heights (including the Ann Jeanette subdivision) – $800,000
Contractors have already started operations in some areas and all streets within these subdivisions are expected to be completed by Sunday, March 1, weather permitting.
Officials say that additional snowfall may result in delays, and snow clearing operations may take place during both daytime and nighttime hours as required.
Downtown snow removal is also scheduled tonight from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on select streets. Move vehicles to avoid ticketing or towing. A complete list of impacted streets can be found on our Downtown Snow Removal Map: https://map.stjohns.ca/snow/
