RNC seizes numerous vehicles for traffic infractions
The RNC seized more than a dozen vehicles in the Corner Brook Region over a week-long period for violations under the Highway Traffic Act. On Jan. 30, officers conducted a routine traffic stop on Main Street in Corner Brook that resulted in impaired driving charges. The 39-year-old man was also ticketed for having open liquor in his vehicle. His license was suspended and vehicle seized.
Police conducted a traffic stop on Poplar Road in Corner Brook last Tuesday, Feb. 3. The 35-year-old male driver was subsequently charged with impaired driving and operating over the legal limit. His vehicle was impounded and license suspended. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
From Pasadena to Summerside, between Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, eight vehicles were seized for operating without insurance, and three vehicles were seized from drivers operating without a license.
