Manitoba’s Team Dunstone wins first ever Brier title in St. John’s
The Montana’s Brier crowned a new champion Sunday night at Mary Brown’s Centre in St. John’s.
Matt Dunstone’s Team Manitoba won its first ever Brier championship, defeating Kevin Koe’s Team Alberta 6-3. The victory for Manitoba ended more than a decade of Brier dominance by teams from Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador.
The championship final was the swan song for Manitoba second E.J. Harden, who joins a long list of curling retirees after this season, including legendary N.L. skip Brad Gushue.
