Man charged with two counts of attempted murder after violent scene on Anspach Street
A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after an incident in the west end of St. John’s Monday evening. Shortly before 7 p.m. last night, RNC responded to Anspach Street in the west end of St. John’s after receiving a report of a man banging on doors and screaming. Upon arrival, officers found two females with serious injuries, one of whom is in critical condition. While investigating, police received a report of a man on the same street being assaulted by what is believed to be the same suspect. In short order, RNC arrested a 32-year-old man and charged him with two counts of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Assault Causing Bodily Harm, as well as three counts of Assault With a Weapon, and Uttering Threats. The matter is still under investigation, and the accused will appear in court this morning.
