An advocate from this province who has been working to increase awareness surrounding Long Covid, has erected another billboard in New Westminster BC.

Group organizer Keith Muise says currently 1/16 people in Canada are infected with Covid19.

“Right here in NL, current wastewater measurements estimated between 10,800- 31,200 new infections this week and at current Long Covid estimates that could result in another 1000-3100 new citizens suffering from Long Covid.” says Muise.

The group plans on placing more billboards all around the country including the Halifax area, Cape Breton, Edmonton, Winnipeg and more. 

Statistics Canada reported 3.5 million having reported suffering from Long Covid in Canada, and 2.1 million of those people have still not recovered, with more people added to this group with an estimated 1 out of every 10 new infections resulting in Long Covid. 

Muise says he is also working to present NL Health Services with a proposal to implement education campaigns and programs all over the island to warn of the dangers of Long Covid, and equip them with the most up to date information.
