Around 9:30 p.m. last night, the RNC responded to a disturbance outside in the downtown area of St. John’s.

It was reported that a male was observed beating up a female and the male had fled the area.

A 49-year-old was later located and charged with overcoming resistance, assault, and uttering threats to damage property, along with court order breaches.

He will attend court this morning.
