Inside Story: Privacy Commissioner releases final review of PowerSchool hack

The PowerSchool cyberattack in 2024 was the second largest breach in Newfoundland and Labrador’s history. Information and Privacy Commissioner Kerry Hatfield released her report this week, finding the Department of Education responded appropriately, but did not have adequate oversight mechanisms to make sure PowerSchool was meeting its security obligations.
