For the first time in a long time, we will have a quiet weekend weather-wise across the Province. While I cannot rule out some scattered flurries, there will not be much notable weather on Saturday and Sunday. That’s great news because Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day, and the weather will not stop you from enjoying any festivities.

The next bit of weather will be on Monday. At this point, it looks like much of the island will see snow that starts in the morning and ends in the evening. Some areas in the south and east will see the snow end as rain. Now, snowfall amounts will be in the 5 to 15 cm range. Remember, it is still early, and the forecast may change a bit over the weekend.

Snowfall forecast from 9:30 PM Sunday to 9:30 PM Monday – The snow will fall Monday

Another area of low pressure will race by the Avalon on Tuesday, which may bring more snow and rain to much of the Island on the aforementioned day. Parts of coastal Labrador will see some light snowfall from both systems between later Monday and early Wednesday.

Temperatures will be up and down, but they look to remain near-ish to normal on the island and well above normal in Labrador.

There haven’t been many times in the last few weeks when I can have such a short forecast discussion.
