Sun is out for Canada Day across Newfoundland while rain moves over Labrador

Cloud looks to linger on the south-facing side of Newfoundland, Wednesday. Those could have some light drizzle in them. In-land and further north will enjoy more time in the sun before that cloud is expected to close in later in the evening, just before fireworks.


The island as a whole will see a light south wind, pushing daytime highs into the 20’s for most regions.
There is some rain moving in by way of Labrador Wednesday evening. The west and south coast can expect some showers after the supper hour, while the Northern Peninsula and Central regions are likely going to hold off until the overnight before they see the rain.

Much needed rain in Lab West spends Wednesday moving east
There’s a good 10-20 mm on the docket for Labrador West Wednesday. Starting nice and early, the rain takes the day to reach Happy Valley-Goose Bay and won’t arrive to the coastline until the overnight hours.
Temperatures look to drop with the arrival of the rain, while the north coast’s daytime high ceiling is much lower with a north west wind cooling coastline.
