Sun and cloud breaks out of early damp conditions across Newfoundland Friday

Eventual sun for all across Newfoundland Friday
There is still some morning rain kicking around from the overnight thundershowers that were emphasized across Central Newfoundland.

That rain looks to fall light across the Burin Peninsula early, while some slightly heavier rain falls in Clarenville, Gander and up through to Fogo Island and the Kittiwake Coast.
By 8 am, light rain falls over the Bonavista Peninsula and moves in for the Avalon. It all wraps up with a brief light rain over the Metro St. John’s region early afternoon.

Meanwhile, a lovely day is unfolding further west. Clouds clear through most of the afternoon. Those close over the Avalon part for a clear and mild evening.

There are some broken clouds that move back in towards the west side of Central Newfoundland, building near the supper hour, bringing back light showers that extend into the Baie Verte Peninsula.

All of Friday’s totals look to finish sub 5 mm.
