St. John’s last to see sun as skies open across Newfoundland Friday

Sunny skies and humidity travels across island Friday
The sun returns to the west and south coast to kick off Friday, giving a runway for the mid-20’s as daytime highs. The humidity, however, will have those base temperatures feeling closer to the 30 degree mark.
Some extra cloud lingers through Central, but retreats as the day progresses.
The Northeast side of the island, however, will have that cloud, fog and drizzle cling a little longer as a north wind gusting 20-40 km/hr also keeps the temperatures modestly in the mid-teens. The further south you find yourself on the Avalon, the better chance you’ll have of reaching 20 degrees.
Newfoundland and Labrador daytime highs for Friday
Showers pass across Labrador Friday, bookended by sun and cloud
Happy Valley-Goose Bay starts the day with morning showers, anticipating a full-day total of 10-15 mm.
Those showers pass out through Makkovik and Cartwright dropping a few millimeters.
A second wave of rain enters central Labrador Friday afternoon and exits out through the south coast, brining a 5-10 mm total with it.
As for Labrador West, some afternoon light showers are possible. For all, before and then as the rain passes, the skies look to clear.
