Strong winds for Newfoundland’s West Coast and Northern Peninsula
The winds, albeit overall warm, are having different effects across the island. The southern portion won’t benefit quite as much as it will feel cool off the water and be accompanied by some fog for a large portion of Tuesday.
Most of Newfoundland will see the southwest wind gust from 40-60 km/h, however along the upper west coast and into the Northern Peninsula, gusts are expected to top at a range of 80-100 km/h through to Tuesday afternoon. This has a wind alert in place by Environment Canada.

Mostly sun and cloud for Newfoundland Tuesday
For the most part, Newfoundland is looking at a day of sun with varying amounts of cloud passing through. There is a small band of passing light rain coming in from the West Coast in the morning, but nothing that lasts long enough to accumulate to anything more than some drizzle. It is looking like there is some extra cloud west and south, but sunny breaks are expected throughout.

Snow passing across Labrador Tuesday morning
The temperature from Happy Valley-Goose Bay to Cartwright, and south, dances the zero mark early Tuesday morning. The temperatures look to drop in time for 5 cm or so to fall in both Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Cartwright, while Makkovik can expect limited flurries and Mary’s Harbour to Red Bay is forecasted for just some moments of light rain as the positive temperatures hold.
This snow make it’s way from Labrador West where it started Monday evening, finishing in the early hours of Tuesday.
Labrador as a whole is into the sun and cloud by Tuesday afternoon with temperatures cooler than the morning thanks to the sweeping northwest wind.
