It’s an all equal start Wednesday across Newfoundland and Labrador as we welcome sun and cloud province-wide. The exception may be some very light flurries across Labrador West, but still, some sunny breaks could occure.

However, by the afternoon, some snow does fall along the west and south coast of Newfoundland with some flurry potential throughout evening for most other regions.

The sun returns Wednesday for Newfoundland

The sun does come with some cold west wind, which levels out to a 30-50 km/h gust island-wide with lighter wind across Labrador. The result is a cold morning.

By the afternoon, some snow kicks off on the west and south coast. It’s more about consistency than a high snowfall rate. Classified as flurries or light snow, the average accumulation is 5 cm. That same 5 cm moves over to the Burin Peninsula around the supper hour while the Metro region has broken flurries for a single centimetre later in the evening.

Meanwhile in Labrador some light flurries, for a centimetre or less, moves across the Big Land exiting the coastline late in the evening. There is sun and cloud in between those moments of flurries and a warming wind behind them, raising the temperature throughout the day.
