Improving conditions across Newfoundland and Labrador Friday leads into beautiful weekend

Weather

Sun breaks west and travels east throughout Friday in Newfoundland

Friday starts with a small blemish of rain on the southwest coast, holding a modest 1-3 mm in it.

Fueled by a west wind, that rain travels across the south coast, tapering off just before making landfall on the Burin Peninsula.

Behind that rain, is a high-pressure system. That is what is clearing out the sky across Newfoundland as Friday rolls on.

The further east you go, the longer it takes for conditions to improve ahead of a clear-skied Saturday for the entire island.

Labrador West and coastal Labrador will have some light rain first thing Friday morning, accumulating to no more than 2 mm, while Central Labrador sees a sunny start.

As the afternoon rolls on, another wave of light rain moves west to east exiting out near Makkovik with an evening return just before sundown for a limited light rain for Cartwright.

Friday evening, cloud builds over the north coast, holding into Friday as one of the only regions in the province to see any amount of cloud into Saturday.
