The provincial government introduced a new province-wide waste management strategy in 2002 to, in part, reduce the number of waste-disposal sites by 80 per cent, and to eliminate open burning and incineration.  

But the Mayor of Deer Lake believes that plan is failing, and he’s calling on government to revisit its plan to deal with trash disposal. NTV’s Don Bradshaw has that story.
