The Veterans Memorial Highway was closed for several hours overnight due to a motor vehicle collision.

The Bay Roberts Fire Department and RCMP responded to the scene. There is no word on any injuries.

The collision occurred three kilometres north of the exit to North River. Motorists were asked to avoid the area. The highway has since reopened.
