On Sunday afternoon RNC officers responded to a threats complaint at a home in the east end of St. John’s.

Police contained the scene and were able to resolve the situation safely after several hours.

A 48-year-old man was taken into custody and was charged with assault, extortion, forcible confinement, criminal harassment, property damage and breach of a release order.
