ParksNL is preparing to open the reservation system and welcome 2024 clients next Wednesday beginning at 7:00 a.m. Campsites can reserved online or by calling toll-free 1-877-214-CAMP (2267). Most camping parks are scheduled to open for the Victoria Day weekend, with some others opening in late May There are 13 provincial camping parks across the province.

Vehicle takes out light pole in Mount Pearl

A vehicle took out a light pole in Mount Pearl overnight on Commonwealth Avenue between Sunrise Avenue and Edinburgh Drive.  The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival. As a result, there are 1,652 customers in parts of Mount Pearl without power. Newfoundland Power expected the power to be restored by 6:30 a.m.
