The ECCC NL Weather Office in Gander has issued a Rainfall Warning for St. John’s and vicinity until Friday morning.

Rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 mm are expected with rainfall rates exceeding 5 mm per hour at times. Localized flooding is possible due to the frozen ground being unable to absorb the rainfall as it normally would.

Forecasts indicate the rainfall rates will ease by 8 or 9 AM Friday morning.
