UPDATE: Evacuation order expanded to more streets in Badger, rest of town on alert

The evacuation orders have expanded to more neighbourhoods in Badger due to flooding.

The Town of Badger has declared a state of emergency, and has issued an evacuation order for the following sections of the town:

  • The areas required to evacuate, all civic numbers:
    • Beothuk Street
    • Earle Street
    • Kinsman Drive
    • Main Street
    • Park Street
    • River Road
    • Sheppard Street
  • North side of Badger Drive, all even civic numbers.
  • Maple Street, civic numbers 34-76 and 33-99 inclusive.

Evacuees are asked to register at a reception centre located at the Badger Community Centre, 19 Maple Street.

The Provincial Emergency Operations Centre is at Level 2and is actively monitoring this situation. Emergency management partners have been engaged to respond, where necessary.
