St. Anthony RCMP responds to assault in progress, man arrested
After responding to a report of an assault in progress at a St. Anthony home on Saturday morning, police arrested an 18-year-old man for assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Just before 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 10, police responded a report of an assault in progress at a home in the Town of St. Anthony. Officers attended and arrested an 18-year-old man at the scene. No injuries to police or the public were reported.
The 18-year-old man, who was known to the victims, was held in custody overnight and later released on strict conditions. He is expected to appear in provincial court on April to answer to charges of:
- Assault with a weapon – five counts,
- Uttering threats,
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
