Residents urged to evacuate Chance Harbour Resource Road due to forest fire
The Department of Forestry is advising anyone in the Chance Harbour Resource Road cabin area to immediately leave the area due to an out of control forest fire.
The Lethbridge and Area Volunteer Fire department posted on Facebook that they are on scene, and working diligently to battle the blaze.
Terra Nova National Park has also issued a notice to the public, saying although heavy smoke can be seen from the park, staff have investigated and confirmed that it originates from a wildfire outside our boundaries.
According the the provincial Active Wildfire Dashboard, there are currently seven active wildfires in the province.
