RCMP tickets excessive speeder on Trans-Canada Highway
RCMP Traffic Services East seized the vehicle of a 47-year-old man on Thursday after he was stopped for speeding, then found to be operating without valid insurance or registration.
Just after 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling 115 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone on the Trans-Canada Highway in Whitbourne. During the stop, police discovered that the driver was not only uninsured but was also driving with expired registration. In addition to receiving tickets for speeding, operating without insurance and operating without registration, his vehicle was seized and impounded by police.
