Police make additional arrests in ongoing drug investigation
An ongoing Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) intra-provincial drug trafficking investigation has resulted in more arrests and seizures.
In July, the Weapons and Drug Investigation Unit (WDEU) executed a search warrant at a home in the east end of St. John’s resulting in the seizure of:
- Two semi-automatic rifles
- Ammunition and multiple magazines
- 1.5 kilograms of cocaine
- A quantity of pills suspected to be fentanyl
- $100,000 cash.
In August, the WDEU executed another search warrant at a home in Paradise where they seized:
- Six kilograms of cocaine
- $300,000 in cash.
Three men ages, 30, 19 and 59, have been arrested with charges pending. The investigation is ongoing.
