Police investigating online scam, urging possible victims to come forward
Holyrood RCMP are investigating after a resident reported an online marketplace scam, and are urging anyone with a similar experience to contact police.
In November 2025, police received a report from an individual who paid a deposit via e-transfer for a purchase from Facebook Marketplace and believed they were the victim of an online scam. An investigation found the social media account and email address associated with the transaction were connected with other suspicious online activity.
Holyrood RCMP believes it is likely there are other victims in the province that have not come forward to police.
