Local News, News

A fire in the centre of St. John’s overnight destroyed two vehicles, and is under investigation.

Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to the fire just after midnight. When crews arrived at the scene, in a parking lot at the corner of Vimy Avenue and Cashin Avenue, they found one vehicle fully ablaze with fire spreading to a second vehicle parked nearby.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring the blaze under control, but not before one vehicle was destroyed with the second vehicle sustaining extensive damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
