Natuashish RCMP investigates pair of break and enters, suspect arrested
RCMP in Natuashish arrested a 33-year-old man on Monday in relation to a pair of break, enter and thefts in the community.
At approximately 9:12 a.m. on Jan. 5, officers responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a commercial building on Pokue Street. During the early morning hours of Jan. 1, the suspect gained entry inside more than one office, caused damage to the property and left with multiple laptop computers.
Police conducted a criminal investigation at the scene and linked the suspect to a second break and enter at the nearby post office on the same day.
Thirty-three-year-old Nicholas Rich arrested without incident at a residence in the community. He was held in police custody to appear in Provincial Court.
Rich has been charged with:
- break and enter to commit an indictable offence – five counts,
- unlawful possession of break-in instrument – two counts,
- disguise with intent – two counts,
- failure to comply with Probation Order – two counts,
- theft of mail from post office.
Investigations into these incidents are ongoing.
